Marathon man Peter Thompson showed students how to put their best feet forward when he made a special guest appearance at our sports day on 18th July.
Peter made his mark in April and May of this year, after completing an amazing 44 marathons, across 44 European countries in 44 consecutive days, raising over £20,000 for mental health charities Livability Holton Lee and MIND in the process.
Peter gave a special assembly to students, revealing how he managed to stay focused during his incredible 1,152 mile challenge, as well as providing tips on training. The visit was organised by Year 11 Learning Director Greg Etheridge, who has been friends with Peter for over 15 years.
Sam Davidson, Principal: “Completing one marathon is a major achievement, but to run 44 in the same number of days is incredible and shows just what can be achieved with dedication, determination and focus – important messages that Peter helped convey to our students during his visit.”
