Member of Youth Parliament Hustings featuring Carter Community School

Published: 08 February 2017

The Council Chamber at the Civic Centre was a hive of activity on Thursday 26th January, where  14 young people from Poole Schools took to the floor in a hustings event to share their campaign speeches as to why they should be elected as the next member of Youth Parliament.

Carter Community School are very proud to be supporting James Wood (Year 7)  and Emily Simes-Davies (Year 8) who are both running in the 2017 election.

The students boldly delivered their campaigns to the Mayoress of Poole, friends, families, teachers and delegates in education. Questions were then invited from the audience and the young people answered these with great passion and insight.

We are looking forward to the live voting system which is open to all young people in Poole between the ages of 11-18.

We wish both James and Emily the very best of luck.
