Lunch and Break times

Healthy hot and cold food is made on site by our own catering team. Students may purchase food at morning break and lunchtime. Alternatively, students may bring their own packed lunches to eat in the dining room. Students are asked not to bring fizzy drinks to school. Students can also purchase breakfast between 8.15 and 8.30am.

Students are not permitted to leave the school site during break or lunchtimes

Keeping Parents informed

The school uses GroupCall to send automated Text (SMS) messages to parents, staff and key contacts. This will be used for Unauthorised absences, advanced notice of letters home, Parents Evening, School Trips, and events.

You will not be able to reply by text, if you need to speak to someone please phone the school on 01202 676789 option 1

Student Attendance

Good attendance and punctuality are vital to a student’s education. It is also important for success and achievement in later life that students get into good habits with regard to attendance and punctuality. We expect 100% attendance and accept 95% at least. If you have any concerns about your child’s attendance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Absence

Please report each day that a student is absent by calling us on:

01202 676789 select option 1, before 9.30 a.m.

stating the

  • Student’s name
  • Tutor Group
  • reason for absence
  • and your name.

Please note that tiredness, a light cold, late nights and birthdays are not valid reasons for absence

Leave of absence

holiday is not granted during term time, as per government regulations. Leave of absence for matters such as funerals should be requested using the leave of absence form  - Student Absence Request Form

GP and dentist appointments should be made for outside of school hours. If attending a hospital or orthodontic appointment which cannot be moved, please ensure that your child comes in for the rest of the day.
