Excellence Club at Carter: Today we had our introductory meeting with Year 9. The Excellence Club is an academic club for our most able students, designed to increase aspirations and give students the skills to achieve A/A* grades at GCSE. There is a programme of exciting events for these students, such as visits to universities, museums and also competitions – watch this space for updates.
Gifted and Talented Maths students have the opportunity to thrive at Carter. We enter teams for a national Mathematics competitions, Maths Challenge, which is run by the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust. We deliver an enriching curriculum to develop our most able students through a series of workshops and projects.

Miss Hurlock and the A, G and T Year 9 students have created a selection of QR codes that are displayed in all labs. When scanned these will enable the A, G and T to discover learning beyond the curriculum that complements what they are learning in class.
