Sainsbury's School Games @ Carter

The Sainsbury's School Games is a unique opportunity to motivate and inspire millions of young people across the country to take part in competitive school sport.

The Sainsbury's School Games are made up of four levels of activity: competition in schools, between schools, and at a county/area level:

The Games have a strong Inclusive element resulting in more meaningful opportunities including opportunities for young disabled people.

How is the Sainsbury's School Games delivered?

Carter Community School has recently appointed Sam Cox as Poole’s School Games Organiser.  It is the first time that Carter Community School has been the host site for School Games. 

We are in the early stages of Carter Community School’s sporting journey but there are already some amazing opportunities for our students. Mr Cox has already taken some big steps to drive forward participation and competition for Carter and other Poole Schools. 

Carter Community School Sports Leaders will be attending Dorset Young Ambassadors Conference at Bryanston School and received training in leadership, teamwork and media workshops.Sports leaders are being utilised in PE lessons, sports clubs and school competitions. Carter Community School is hosting the School Games Poole Girls Football tournament on Wednesday 10th February.  Some of our Sports Leaders are currently running Inter-House festivals and competitions.
