The Year 10 GCSE Art students had a fantastic trip to a wonderful sculpture park called Roche Court Educational Trust in Salisbury. Students developed confidence and skills by looking, thinking and speaking about art whilst at Roche Court. It was so pleasing to see all the students engaged with the artwork and even offer their own insights and opinions about the artworks.
Upon our return to school students were able to speak with confidence about the artists, artwork, materials, processes and inspirations we had witnessed whilst on the trip. All students presented work on their top three artists and this will help them to evidence their critical understanding which is part of their assessment objectives for GCSE.
This was a truly inspirational trip where students had the opportunity to experience first hand artwork form international artists whilst speaking to the experts from Roche Court. Good fun was had by all, despite the extremely cold weather. All the staff from Roche Court were extremely impressed with the students and said what a credit they are to Carter Community School.
